Image
E-Newsletter, for the first time in the department of Sociology, was thought of from Deepa S.V, Head of the Department. Socio Splash is the Beautiful name given the BI-ANNUAL E-NEWSLETTER of the department. All the academic activities of the department are to be documented in this. We from the department of Sociology are very happy with our beloved Principal Prof. L. Narayana Swamy for giving permission go ahead with this concept. Its a SELF FINANCING project. Hence, it is e-newsletter. Students will be receiving pdf version of the e-newsletter.  Proncipal Prof. L. Narayana Swamy, sir launched the E-NEWSLETTER & made the historic moment a memorable one.  On this occasion, pupil with highest marks in previous exams, the best seminar presenters were given certificates. The happiness of the students made me think of more development oriented and interesting activities for the department. All those who presented papers in the seminar.

A new thought was initiated to make seminar more interesting and learn from senior professor. Hence, Dr Keshava Murthy sir & Dr Doddahanumaiah sir were invited to give guidance to the students on their presentation skills. On this occasion, the externals also had a glance on the previous semester results of the students and gave them tips to improve their writing skills and also learning methods.  Almost all the students of the department presented their papers, as it was a part of their internal assessment criteria. Certainly, the interest of the pupil is appreciated. 3rd year sociology students with Deepa S.V, HOD & Dr Doddahanumaiah, Associate Prof, GFGC, Hoskote

Road Safety - As spoken by students

Image
Road Safety is so very important. The government has taken initiation to create lot of awareness among the public to follow the Rules and Regulations about the transport. In this regard our students Madhu and Vishwas presented a paper on ROAD SAFETY WEEK. They spoke about why we need to follow the traffic rules, if violated whats the effect, statistical report on road accidents across the country, state and the region. With this the students wanted to have interaction session in the class and that happened with the speakers and Teacher in-charge. It was wonderful session. With this session itself I could explored the speaking skills and the interest of the students. Hence thought of many more academic activities in order to promote learning more easy and enthusiastic.

2019 A New Time

Image
I reported to department of Sociology @ GFGC, Chikkaballapura in January 2019, on deputation from GFGC, Yelahanka. I want to document department activities in as many as possible social media that can be accessed. I have taken initiation today 22nd September 2019, to create BLOG to the Department of Sociology. This is my first academic activity with new set of students from final year BA. Roja and Madhu presented their thoughts and views on CANCER on the occasion of WORLD CANCER DAY. It was indeed a big challenge in the beginning to motivate them. But they were keen in learning in new way, obviously this they thought a very good platform for their ORATORY SKILLS to be developed. Both presented their best of knowledge about the disease cancer. The statistics about the disease, root cause of it, socio-economic reasons behind it, rehabilitation for the diseased etc.
