Vinod Kumar R, from 2nd semester Sociology department got prize in Elocution competition organized by Health department in our college premises at regional level. Tobacco Prohibition was the topic of talk.

Students have to be given more platforms for their knowledge exposure. Then the students will certainly have overall development in their career and personality.

Certificate Course in Report Writing - 2018-19

The Department of Sociology @ GFGC, Chikkaballapura, as a part of Syllabus is teaching on Research Methods. Students after listening to few classes, asked for report writing. They wanted to know why it is called as skill. Hence, after this, as a Teaching and also a researcher I felt that students must be offered with little training on REPORT WRITING. Hence, the Department of Sociology, under the Headship of Smt Deepa S V, thought of offering CERTIFICATE COURSE in REPORT WRITING. Students also showed lot of interest. Hence, all final year Sociology joined for the course. The internal training started from Feb 1st Week of 2019 to Mid Week of March 2019. It was designed that, we will be going for PILOT STUDY to a village. Online Classes - 2020-2021 Inauguration

  As directed by BNU, Online classes for 2nd & 3rd Year were inaugurated on 1st September, 2020, via Google Meet App. Few Final year students came online to listen the class. With I ntroduction of Syllabus of Sociology of Women , the classes began. As the students came up with lots of network issues and others, they requested for flexibility in the classes. Hence I decided to take the classes via Google Classroom by attaching the video link of my YouTube channel and other external Videos. Even for me also, It was quite difficult to take classes from college, as there was network fluctuations, staff room was full of Faculty and students were coming for admission approval.
