  I ( Deepa S.V, Asst Prof/HOD, Dept of Sociology, GFGC, Chikkaballapura ) was invited by Smt Rekha, Asst Prof, Department of Sociology, GFGC, Peenya from sociology forum VIKASANA, on 23rd Feb 2019, to give lecture on Problems of Third Gender. Almost 95 students were present for the session. The reaction from students was really very nice. I am thankful to Rekha for an opportunity. Shri Prakash sir, Principal sir and Dr Gangaraju Naik sir senior faculty department of History were very humble. The other teaching faculty were also very friendly. I wish all the best to Rekha madam for further academic events in the department.

Gender Sensitization Week 2020

  The Department of Sociology, Invited Prof. Sujatha K, Department of Kannada, GFGC, Chikkaballapura on 5th March 2020, to speak on the same topic and enrich our students. The event was organized by Deepa S.V, Asst Prof, Dept of Sociology, GFGC, Chikkaballapura All students with lots of Zeal attended the event. Prof. Chandraiah G.D, Principal, GFGC, Chikkaballapura was supposed to Preside over the event, but due to emergency work in Head office, he conveyed wishes to the department. After madam spoke about Gender Sensitization, both Boys and Girls reciprocated with lots of discussion on Gender inequality, Gender Discrimination, How to achieve equality etc were raised by students.
