Certificate Course in Report Writing - 2018-19


The Department of Sociology @ GFGC, Chikkaballapura, as a part of Syllabus is teaching on Research Methods.

Students after listening to few classes, asked for report writing. They wanted to know why it is called as skill. Hence, after this, as a Teaching and also a researcher I felt that students must be offered with little training on REPORT WRITING.

Hence, the Department of Sociology, under the Headship of Smt Deepa S V, thought of offering CERTIFICATE COURSE in REPORT WRITING. Students also showed lot of interest. Hence, all final year Sociology joined for the course. The internal training started from Feb 1st Week of 2019 to Mid Week of March 2019.

It was designed that, we will be going for PILOT STUDY to a village. All the students preferred to write report on that village and its socio-economic-cultural aspects.

on 25th March 2019, Dr DoddaHanumaiah B.H, Associate Prof, Dept of Sociology, GFGC, Hoskote was invited for special lecture, after 30 hours of internal training (By Deepa S.V, HOD, Dept of Sociology, GFGC, Chikkaballapura). There Ms. Niveditha and Mr Srinivas presented the report.

They were appreciated with certain skills to be acquired while presenting. The certificate distribution was planned for mid week of May 2019.

Online Classes - 2020-2021 Inauguration

  As directed by BNU, Online classes for 2nd & 3rd Year were inaugurated on 1st September, 2020, via Google Meet App. Few Final year students came online to listen the class. With I ntroduction of Syllabus of Sociology of Women , the classes began. As the students came up with lots of network issues and others, they requested for flexibility in the classes. Hence I decided to take the classes via Google Classroom by attaching the video link of my YouTube channel and other external Videos. Even for me also, It was quite difficult to take classes from college, as there was network fluctuations, staff room was full of Faculty and students were coming for admission approval.

World Book Day 2021 - Department of Sociology

  Sharing stories together for just  ten minutes a day  will encourage a love of reading and it’s fun for everyone! You can read together  anywhere and everywhere, from breakfast to bedtime!  In the park, on the train, on the sofa, on a plane – reading and sharing stories can happen anywhere at any time.  World Book Day is a  celebration of reading , authors, illustrators and books. It’s designated by  UNESCO  as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world. In the department of Sociology, GFGC, Chikkaballapura, we decided to ask students to read some books and come up with some stories. Two students came forward and made an effort to share a story via voice clip.
